The "Digitalization of signatures in administrative processes" think tank set up within bwUni.digital was given the task of developing a holistic concept for implementing the digitalization of signatures in university administrative processes in consultation with all state universities, taking into account the legal, technical and organizational circumstances and thus creating added value for each individual university.

This white paper can be used to decide how a signature in the paper process can be mapped in a new digital process in a legally compliant manner. To this end, Section B describes the legal framework and Section C the technical possibilities. Section D provides an example of how the framework conditions can be applied to selected processes. Section E summarizes the results and recommendations.
